Wallet impersonation

impersonation

Wallet impersonation is a Leeri screening rule for TRON that detects the following: Addresses that mimic this wallet's own trailing characters, aimed at whoever pays it from memory or copied history rather than at this wallet directly.

What it detects

Addresses that mimic this wallet's own trailing characters, aimed at whoever pays it from memory or copied history rather than at this wallet directly.

When it fires

An address sharing this wallet's trailing characters is observed transacting with one of this wallet's own counterparties.

What it means

Someone is using lookalikes of this address to divert payments meant for it. The address is the target, not the actor, so this is a warning for its owner and for those who pay it rather than evidence about its funds.

What to do

When paying this address, check the full address rather than its first and last characters; no further review is usually needed.
